Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why Use a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC)?

Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) state on their website: “We will not deal with representatives who charge a fee but are not authorized. If you use an unauthorized representative, in Canada or abroad, we may return your application or refuse it.” (link)

Using an unauthorized immigration consultant can lead to:

  • Automatic refusal of your file for misrepresentation due to failure to disclose immigration representation (which can result in a ban on entering Canada)
  • Loss of money since no error insurance coverage is possible
  • Possible loss of access to the details of your file. An unauthorized agent cannot communicate with the Canadian authorities on your behalf to receive details about your immigration process
  • Incorrect assessment of your chances to qualify for immigration, at your expense

More importantly, it is illegal. An unauthorized immigration consultant can be fined $100,000 or receive a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
